Three Delaware schools have been honored as one of the 362 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2019. They were honored based on their overall academic achievement and progress toward meeting academic goals and closing achievement gaps.
Delaware schools that made the list include Charter School of Wilmington, Delaware Military Academy and West Park Place Elementary School. All three schools will be attending a ceremony in Washington, DC on November 14 and 15.
Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award is meant to affirm the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.
"As a new member of the CSW community, I am grateful to our faculty, staff, administration, parents, guardians, alumni and Board of Directors for always putting our scholars first and for supporting them around the clock," said Charter President Dr. James P. Capolupo.
"We look forward to attending the National Blue Ribbon Award ceremony in November and celebrating this honor when we return. We will continue to create a cohesive community, enhance our academic success and innovate our Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics curriculum for the 21st century."
