Viva Chicken, a popular Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurant based in Charlotte, North Carolina, opened in Newark today.
The 96-seat restaurant is located in the Centre Pointe Plaza shopping center at 1103 Churchmans Road in Newark. This is the 10th location in the chain and the first outside of North Carolina or Utah.
"The keys to Viva Chicken's menu are authenticity and Peruvian-sourced ingredients," said co-founder Bruno Macchiavello. "We are excited to bring both to our first location in Delaware and get to know the Christiana community."
The chain is known for its Pollo a la Brasa, a herb-coated rotisserie chicken cooked in a charcoal-fired oven imported from Lima, Peru. Other menu items include quinoa stuffed avocado, arroz chaufa (Peruvian fried rice) and fresh juice made in-house.
CBRE arranged the lease for Viva Chicken. NAI Emory Hill's Jim O'Hara represented the landlord, Fusco Management.
"Viva is a great restaurant concept with delicious fresh food and a unique flavor profile," Mandel said. "I am excited to assist with their continued expansion throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region."
