DOVER -- The Delaware Tech Terry Campus is offering a free placement screening for individuals 16 to 24 years old who are not currently enrolled in school and are either underemployed or unemployed.
The Out of School Youth program is offered at no cost through a partnership with the state’s Department of Labor Workforce Development Board. Students will have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills and enhance their marketability and competitiveness in the workplace.
The 3.5-hour assessment screening will be offered on campus in Building 200 at 9 a.m. on September 26. No registration or appointment is necessary.
Adult learners over the age of 24 are not eligible for the youth program, but they are encouraged to attend the free assessment screening and receive information about adult basic education options.
Out of School Youth participants will obtain a GED if needed and earn industry-recognized certificates, participate in entrepreneurial education and leadership development opportunities, take financial literacy workshops and complete up to 262 hours of occupational training through paid work experience and internships.
Upon completion of the program, individuals will be workforce ready and prepared to continue their post-secondary education.
