The City of Milford has announced Tony Chipola as electric director. In this role, Chipola will be responsible for the direction and supervision of the City’s Electric Division, which includes operating and maintaining the city electrical system, trouble calls, installing of new aerial and underground lines, also performing maintenance of the existing lines.

“Tony has shown a passion for serving electric customers at the local level. He knows the benefits of public power to a community,” Mark Whitfield, City Manager, said.“His background will serve the City well as we continue to grow, both by population and by power demands and supply.”
Chipola joins the city with 17 years of electrical engineering experience, including substation and distribution engineering, relay test development, SCADA system knowledge, electrical planning and forecasting, and solar experience.After graduating from Drexel University with his BS in Electrical Engineering, Chipola began his career at the City of Vineland and most recently worked at Exelon Corporation for the last 14 years.He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
“I’m excited to leverage my skills gained from both the municipal and corporate sectors to provide safe and reliable electric for the residents of Milford,” Chipola said.

Scott Kammerer has been named to Nation’s Restaurant News list of the most influential CEOs in the country for the second time. Kammerer serves as president of SoDel Concepts, a Rehoboth Beach, Delaware-based hospitality group.
SoDel Concepts currently has 17 restaurants, three sports concessions and a wedding-and-event venue. The company recently handled all the catering for a tripleheader NASCAR race at Dover International Speedway.
The New Jersey native currently serves on the National Restaurant Association board. He was previously chairman of the Delaware Restaurant Association and received the DRA’s Cornerstone Award and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Award.
“These honors — and they truly are honors — represent the hard work of our entire team,” Kammerer, who started his culinary career in 1992 as a dishwasher, said. “From our directors of operations to our chefs to our servers, this dedicated family keeps SoDel Concepts running smoothly when we might be catering a huge event, entertaining summer tourists or opening a new restaurant.”

Saint Francis Hospital announced Robert Monteleone, MD, has been named Family Physician of the Year by the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians (DAFP). Dr. Monteleone is a family medicine physician at Saint Francis Family Medicine and residency director for the Saint Francis Family Medicine Residency Program,
“Dr. Monteleone wholly embodies the well-rounded physician whose actions demonstrate his passion for the profession and care for the community,” said David Hack, MD, chairman of Family Medicine at Saint Francis Hospital, said in a statement.
As colonel and state surgeon in the Delaware Army National Guard, Dr. Monteleone completed three tours Iraq. He provided frontline care to soldiers at a combat clinic in Kirkuk and medical support on Balad Air Base as well as at Ali Air Base (also known as Imam Ali Air Base and formerly known as Tallil Air Base) in Nasiriyah, Iraq. He has served his country for over three decades and continues to serve as the state surgeon by providing administrative support and medical oversight for approximately 1,500 soldiers. He recently completed a term as the chair of the Army National Guard Medical Advisory Group Executive Committee, which is comprised of representatives for the 54 states and territories, to provide policy and operational guidance to the chief surgeon of the Army National Guard.
As an administrator, Dr. Monteleone serves as the medical director of the Delaware Care Collaborative, a Medicare Shared Savings Accountable Care Organization that provides quality care to seniors. He is also a Board member of the Saint Francis LIFE program, which offers comprehensive, quality care in an outpatient setting. Additionally, Dr. Monteleone sits on the Board of Directors for the Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research, which provides opportunities to Delaware college students pursuing careers in the medical field.
