DOVER -- Delaware’s Republican leadership in the senate won’t change much. Senator Gary Simpson, (R - Milford) will remain the senate minority leader, and Senator Greg Lavelle (R- Sharpley) will retain his post as senate minority whip.
Speaking after the caucus reorganization meeting, Simpson said he was happy to still have the support of caucus members, and support and unity will be necessary in the coming session. “Delaware has a lot on its plate to get the economy moving,” he said. “I look forward to an all-out effort from my caucus to achieve that goal.”
“I’m pleased to again join with Gary Simpson as our caucus prepares to tackle a challenging year and address the critical issues facing Delaware – the economy, education and public safety,” Lavelle said.
The caucus also welcomed its newest member, Cooch and Taylor attorney Anthony Delcollo (R-Marshallton.) “Anthony Delcollo will be an excellent addition to the Delaware State Senate,” Lavelle said. “He earned a tremendous victory with hard work, determination and listening to those he was seeking to represent. Now that he has been elected, I have no doubt that he will put that same determination to making positive changes and fully representing the 7th senatorial district that he grew up in and loves so much.”
