No stranger to the world of sports, Alekseyev was a Division I swimmer for Stony Brook University, where he held three records during his undergraduate collegiate career.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in health sciences, sociology and adapted aquatics from Stony Brook University, Alekseyev went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s College.
Later, Alekseyev pursued his medical degree from American University of Antigua, and he completed residencies at the Staten Island University Hospital and the Kingsbrook Rehabilitation Institute.
Alekseyev won a professionalism award during his residency and has been nominated as the top physiatrist in Dover for the past few years.
Looking ahead, Alekseyev will serve as a medical director of another inpatient rehabilitation facility in Georgetown that Post Acute Medical plans to open next year.
Alekseyev serves as the community chair for his local Rotary club in Dover, which set up flags in front of the Delaware Technical Community College campus for Memorial Day this year to recognize the heroic efforts of more than 400 health care and military personnel.
Last year, Alekseyev helped former Green Bay Packers football player Diyral Briggs organize a football skills camp for children 6 to 18 years old. He also organized a post-traumatic stress disorder/mental health event, which was sponsored by the Wilmington VA Medical Center, to help veterans deal with their PTSD and life after service.
