Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense has granted DuPont and The Dow Chemical Company conditional approval for their proposed merger.
The conditions include divestment from a select portion of Dow AgroSciences' corn seed business in Brazil, which covers a number of seed processing plants and research centers within the country.
This condition is similar to what other foreign powers, including the European Commission, have required for approval.
In line with these conditions, the companies plan to divest from much of DuPont’s global crop protection portfolio and R&D pipeline and organization, as well as Dow’s global Ethylene Acrylic Acid copolymers and ionomers business.
