Wilmington –
Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) announced its first virtual Career Fair to be held Wednesday, October 14, 2020, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Undergraduate, graduate students and alumni will be able to join the Career Fair and meet employers in their fields of study.
“Making connections and building strong relationships are what it’s all about,” said Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, president of GBC in a statement. “The College partners with more than 60 employers each year to provide students with personal introductions to human resource representatives. Our career services team has personally watched our students and graduates earn promotions from entry level to management positions including banking, accounting and human resources.”
This year, it has been critical for everyone to engage virtually. Longtime Career Fair participants Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) and
WSFS Bank agree. “In March, WSFS quickly pivoted all recruitment and onboarding processes to the virtual channel,” said Patrick Best, vice president, manager of talent acquisition at WSFS Bank in a statement. “WSFS Bank has always been impressed by the students who attend. We have successfully worked with students to provide both internship and full-time opportunities. Goldey-Beacom, along with the college’s Career Services group, does a great job preparing students to engage with prospective employers. In today’s unique environment, we plan to continue to learn more about the students as we have always done, but in a way that is new and exciting.”
Even in a virtual environment, employers are confident about meeting well-qualified individuals through the Goldey-Beacom College Career Fair. Rosa Booker, human resource specialist – recruiting, DRBA said in a statement, “We are building partnerships and staying in front of potential candidates. We work with colleges and universities as well as the Department of Labor and are proactive in the community to market our brand as an employer as well as our employment opportunities.”
