DiFonzo Bakery, a part of the fabric of Wilmington's Little Italy since 1945, is up for sale.

The bakery, known for its tomato pie and its crusty steak rolls, closed in 2004 but reopened two years ago a few miles away in Elsmere. Now the business, equipment, restaurant license and the 2,352 square foot masonry building at 724 Old Dupont Road is listed for sale.

The DiFonzo family did not return calls, but the bakery sale is posted an online commercial real estate site. The business and building are up for sale for a reduced price of $399,000, and the 36-pan baking oven and all baking equipment are included.
