Gov. John Carney on July 17 signed an act to amend Title 4 of the Delaware Code to allow 18-year-old restaurant workers to serve alcohol. The previous age-requirement was 19.
The Delaware Restaurant Association supported the introduction and passage of HB 365. The rule change impacts all establishments with on-premises sale and consumption of alcoholic liquor except taverns and taprooms.
Speaker of the House Pete Schwarzkopf sponsored the bill and Senator Ernie Lopez co-sponsored.
