DOVER -- The Delaware Tech Terry Campus Workforce Development and Community Education division, supported through Department of Labor funding, is offering qualified students the opportunity to complete the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program at no cost.
The program is being offered Monday through Friday (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) from Feb. 6 through March 31, as well as March 20 through May 19.
Students interested in this opportunity must attend an information session. Upcoming information sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10; Thursday, Jan. 12; and Tuesday, Jan. 31. All sessions begin at 1 p.m. and are held on campus in Building 200, room 818. Students will be interviewed and selected for this competitive opportunity.
In the CNA program, students will learn to safely perform basic nursing skills under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a long-term care facility. Communication, observation, and documentation skills are incorporated to aid the student in meeting the psychological, physical and environmental needs of the patient.
Following successful completion of this course and internship, the student will take the Nurse Aid Competency Examination for certification. Course costs, textbook, uniforms, supplies, and certification exam are included in the program.
