(AP) — The president of a booster club for a high school boys' lacrosse team has been charged with stealing nearly $28,000 from the club.
Delaware State Police said Friday that Stephanie Trimmer had been charged with theft. Police said Trimmer began stealing from the booster club's bank account in February 2016.
Officials with the Cape Henlopen School District notified detectives in June that the booster club's bank account had a negative balance when it should have several thousand dollars.
Trimmer was not immediately available for comment. Police said she was arraigned and released on bond.
