The Better Business Bureau serving Delaware has announced the 2022 winners of the Torch Award for Community Impact, Thrive Award for Community Impact, and Rush Award programs. The Thrive Award for Community Impact honors those organizations that have gone above and beyond in their efforts to embrace and advance diversity.“2022 is just the second year of the Thrive Award for Community Impact and to say we have been overwhelmed by the response it’s gotten is an understatement. We knew that we are surrounded by companies that embrace diversity and inclusion within their businesses, but we didn’t realize how deep some of those values go in so many organizations,” BBB President Christine Sauers said in a statement.
The winner of the 2022 Thrive Award for Community Impact is Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, an education consulting and tutoring company. Through translators, interpreters, tutors, and coaches Back to Basics helps make the school system more accessible to marginalized groups, combats economic inequity, and tries to ensure that every student knows that they are loved and cared for. By the very nature of their business, Back to Basics creates a more inclusive school system.
The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics competition recognizes exemplary businesses that strive to go above and beyond in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors and their community. “The 2022 Torch Award winners take the approach to “Lead with Ethics” in all they do which helps them attract and retain new customer relationships. This philosophy reminds their clients and team about what they stand for as a company,” Sauers said.
BBB Delaware presents the Torch Awards for Ethics each year to businesses that exemplify ethical behavior and display integrity in all aspects of its operations. Three Delaware companies were selected as 2022 recipients of the Torch Awards for Ethics. Those businesses are:
