The chamber announced the appointment on Tuesday, July 10. The release noted that "Mark brings great experience in government relations at the local, state and federal level. In addition, he has been active in creating economic development partnerships with local universities and governments."
"Anne Arundel County has a very diverse and vibrant economy and has so many unique and valuable business opportunities," Kleinschmidt said. "The Chamber is perfectly positioned to help our members and the entire community experience positive economic growth which will help ensure that Anne Arundel County is a great place to visit, live, work and play."
Kleinschmidt will take over the position effective July 23, 2018.
