The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) has named Ted Gavin, CTP, as president of its board of directors.
Gavin is a founding partner and managing director of corporate restructuring and public affairs at Gavin/Solmonese, which has offices in New York City and Wilmington.
The one-year term began in April at ABI's 2018 Annual Spring Meeting. Gavin has been a member of ABI since 2003. He specializes in complex bankruptcy matters and representing debtors and creditors as financial advisor. He frequently serves as liquidating trustee, asset-sale advisor and restructuring officer.
"I am proud to call myself an ABI member and am honored to serve ABI in this position," Gavin said. "This is an exciting time to be a member of the ABI, as our industry is changing and our organization is and will continue to respond to these changes. I look forward to serving the membership in the coming year."
ABI is the largest nonpartisan organization focused on research and education on banking and insolvency. It's 12,000 members include attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists and other bankruptcy professionals.
