While Alex Parkowski joined well-known Wilmington advertising and marketing firm Aloysius Butler & Clark (AB&C) to work in public relations, she eventually moved to account services.
Although an atypical career path, she wanted to work more directly with clients who were making an impact in the state.
Since then, Parkowski has helped on campaigns that have increased state cancer screening rates, eliminated the disparities in colorectal cancer screening, slowed the spread of COVID-19, improved access to addiction-related and health care services, increased access to health insurance, educated Delawareans on best practices for recycling, and linked Delawareans with higher education opportunities.
She co-founded the Behavior Change Division at AB&C in 2016 and has since tripled the size of the team and book of business. In 2016, she received the Delaware Hispanic Award for the development of culturally and linguistically competent marketing and communications campaigns which had a great impact on the local Latino community.
Parkowski serves on a number of nonprofit boards and committees, including NERDiT CARES, The WRK Group, Marketing & Communications Committee, and the Gals that Give New Castle County Planning Committee. She also works with several cancer and addiction-related nonprofits on a pro-bono basis to help develop strategies and creative tactics to meet their goals.
Although she is currently a Middletown resident, the native Delawarean has lived in all three counties.
