Wilmington hardware store Action Hardware has won national recognition within the independent home improvement industry.

Hardware + Building Supply Dealer, a national industry publication, named Action Hardware the 2018 Hardware All Star. It was the only hardware store in Delaware given All Star status.

The magazine's editors select All Stars based on business criteria such as longevity, growth, employee development and retention, creativity and local involvement.

The magazine highlighted Action Hardware's customer service and large selection of lawn and garden products.

"When we picked our name back in 1979, it was because we wanted to be first in the phone book," owner Jeff Ulmer. "Today, we're honored and grateful to be named first in the state of Delaware and be counted among such a select group of successful independent home improvement retailers across the country."
