Delaware business professionals Ingrid and James Burnett have signed on to open a franchise of the Abrakadoodle learning camp in Wilmington.

Based in Sterling, VA, Abrakadoodle's model offers classes, field trips, special events, camps and workshops in the visual arts. The Wilmington franchise plans to expand across the state with offerings in Newark, Dover, Middletown, New Castle, Bear, Delaware City, Smyrna and Hockessin.

Ingrid and James Burnett both combine backgrounds in business administration with a flair for the artistic. Following a 24-year career in the financial services, James taught landscape design students. Ingrid worked for 18 years as a consultant for E.I. Dupont before founding a nonprofit that provides free arts and crafts programs to economically disadvantage children during summer and Christmas breaks.

The organization is now hiring teachers.
