DSCC: A Voice for Innovation in Dover and Beyond
Delaware State Chamber of Commerce
The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce (DSCC) has represented the First State’s business community since 1837, and is now serving more than 1,000 members.
“Our goal is to help create an economic environment that encourages growth, competitiveness and stability for all businesses,” says DSCC President Michael Quaranta.
The DSCC team meets regularly with Delaware’s Congressional delegation and plays a leading role in bringing issues before the General Assembly in Dover on behalf of its members, supporting legislation that encourages innovation and fighting against legislation that may hinder it.
DSCC plans to build on momentum gained with the modernization of the Coastal Zone Act and the creation of Delaware Prosperity Partnership (see profile here). The State Chamber advocated for both pieces of legislation, which will aid in Delaware’s economic development efforts.
Another important role of DSCC: connecting Delaware’s great business and community leaders with each other. “We help our members forge new relationships through networking and events to foster innovative collaboration and progress within the business community,” says Quaranta.
The state Chamber’s premier networking event is its annual dinner, attended by more than 900 business leaders and elected officials.
