Delaware Bio moving to Delle Donne campus on Concord Pike

Delaware BioScience Association last week announced plans to move out of the STAR Campus in Newark and into the former AstraZeneca North Campus on Concord Pike.

The life sciences industry group will occupy a 3,500 square-foot facility facing Concord Pike near the entrance of the campus.

“As a connector organization, collaboration is critical to our success,” said Helen Stimson, president and CEO of Delaware Bio. “Our decision to relocate to this new location supports our objective to work with multiple organizations, groups and individuals who share our focus on creating a cohesive and complete offering for
bioscience start-ups.”

Delle Donne and Associates purchased the property in June of 2017. AstraZeneca sold the property for $50 million, but continues to occupy two buildings under a long-term lease.

“DDA is committed to supporting and growing Delaware’s emerging life sciences community,” Ernest F. Delle Donne, chairman of DDA. “We believe the presence of Delaware Bio on our new property will serve as a great resource for these emerging, and typically fast-growing, life science businesses.”

DDA plans to expand the 80-acre campus by another 900,000 square feet. The real estate firm also plans to provide additional amenities to the 11,000 employees based around the campus.
