Favorite thing about Delaware? “I love how diverse the state is. There are so many treasures throughout the State- from the parks to the beaches- to the cities and of course all of the history.”
Since 1987, Delaware Hospice CEO Susan Lloyd has guided the fledgling company from one program to 10 programs and services throughout the state and along with Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania. Under her leadership, the Delaware Hospice Center opened in 2008 to bring a new option of care to Delaware families with 16 suites in a family-style surroundings. Lloyd also launched the award- winning New Hope Program that helps children between the ages of six and 17 cope with loss through one-on-one counseling, school groups and a four-day summer camp in Delaware’s three counties. Through many other services like palliative care and transitions programs that offer support for those with family members with serious illnesses, Delaware Hospice has supported 130,000 families as of 2022.
