What was your first job? “My first job I worked for a small construction company based in Hartley, Delaware called M&R Builders. We graded & seeded yards, built decks, and stairs for trailer homes throughout the Delmarva peninsula.”
In 2016, Rob Herrera fought for a vision of a Delaware-focused co-working space and with backing from the Buccini/Pollin Group, he was able to open The Mill. The first concept was 11,000 square feet in the Nemours Building in downtown Wilmington, and a year later, The Mill has occupied the entire floor and welcomed notable start-ups like Ally Financial and nonprofits like Zip Code Wilmington. In the years since, The Mill has added a second location in the Baynard building in the Wilmington suburbs, and Herrera is planning its first Sussex County location in Seaford as part of a reimagined Nylon Capital Shopping Center.
