What is something interesting that is not on your resume? “I once sold peanuts at a Seattle Mariners game and rode in an elevator with Johnny Carson.”
Michael Fleming, a biopharmaceutical industry veteran who spent 18 years with global biopharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), was appointed president of the Delaware BioScience Association in June 2020. The industry association represents 160 companies in the burgeoning industry in the First State, hosting monthly meetings to connect members, producing reports highlighting the growth of the industry, and advocating for policy changes. He’s well-suited to the role, having started his career as Wilmington state office director for the late U.S. Sen. William V. Roth Jr. Under Fleming’s leadership Del Bio has increased its visibility through hosting the state’s first daylong conference for the industry, drawing hundreds of attendees from around the region to Wilmington.
