John Wellons has served as president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, the state’s largest provider of before- and after-school programs, since 2017. The organization boasts an annual membership of 7,000 young people, with an average daily attendance of 3,000 people. In addition, the nonprofit employs 600 people and operates with an annual budget of $25 million. Through his leadership, Wellons focuses on strategic development, intertwined with sound business practices, as he, the board and leadership team pursue a mission to provide programming young people need to grow into productive, responsible, caring citizens.
