What is your favorite thing about Delaware? “The ease of access to business and legislative leaders. The topography of the landscape. In moments you can go from rural feel to a dense urban city. Love Amtrack and the access to the rail from DC to Boston.”

Coming from leadership experience at Greater Boston YMCA, the YMCA of Delaware President and CEO Jarrett Royster has developed the non-profit’s five promises: make kids workforce and life ready, improve individual and community health, create equitable experiences, build family economic stability, and build bridges in the community. As one of the largest non-profits in the state, the YMCA of Delaware had a revenue stream of $39.9 million in 2021, and Royster aims to build that even more. Last year, the Y awarded $3.9 million in financial assistance to members. There are also  2,000 teens in programs like the Youth in Government program, the Black Achievers program and the Leaders in Training program, teaching them how to lead.

Received the award in 2024 and 2025.
