Title: Philanthropist
Gerret Copeland, a member of Delaware’s legacy du Pont family, alongside his wife, Tatiana, has been deeply committed to Delaware’s philanthropic needs, especially related to the arts and the welfare of animals. In 2022, the couple celebrated the opening of the Copeland Center for Animal Welfare in partnership with the Brandywine Valley SPCA. Together, they have established a unique model of community philanthropy in the First State and have received numerous awards for their commitments, including the 2020 Josiah Marvel Cup Award bestowed by the Delaware Chamber of Commerce, the 2019 Delaware History Makers Award and the 2011 Order of the First State given by former Gov. Jack Markell.
