Q&A: What’s something interesting about you that isn’t on your resume? “When I’m not reading up on sustainable technologies, my personal passion is European history, art, literature and culture. More specifically, 19th century French realism and the novels of Flaubert, Zola et al. My hobbies are too numerous to mention and include baking (I’m trying to perfect breads) and embroidery (including designing my own European style samplers).

As leader of the Delaware Sustainable Chemistry Alliance (DESCA), Dora Cheatham is at the forefront of emerging science in Delaware and a leader in the state’s drive toward green hydrogen production. Cheatham has been working amid economic development efforts for years, including a prior stint as economic development and incubation director for the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. With DESCA, she has helped the state to gain the attention of federal energy and manufacturing leaders to invest resources here in building out the Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub, which could be a major job creator of the future.
