Dr. Lisa Maxwell has been appointed as president of the ChristianaCare Medical Group. Her priorities include the adoption of population health measures, the embedding of health equity into care delivery and workforce development, further expansion of access points for patients, and the continuous enhancement of patient and caregiver experience.
Dr. Maxwell previously served as interim president for the Medical Group, where she helped lead the vaccine rollout for patients of ChristianaCare’s primary and specialty care practices. She also was instrumental in helping ChristianaCare accelerate its digital transformation, moving all primary and ambulatory care delivery to telehealth, enabling patients to get vital access to care, and mitigating the risks of exposure for both patients and caregivers.
Dr. Maxwell has served as ChristianaCare’s chief learning officer since March 2019; she was named associate chief learning officer in 2016. Prior to that, she worked in both student and resident education, serving as the program director in Family Medicine, co-program director for the Emergency Medicine-Family Medicine Residency Program and director for Undergraduate Medical Education. She also has served as interim chair for the Department of Family & Community Medicine.
She joined ChristianaCare in 2005, completing a fellowship in faculty development with a focus on the care of underserved populations. In addition to leading efforts in clinical system education, she led efforts to establish the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University’s Delaware Branch Campus for medical students.
She has held regional and local leadership positions in various organizations, including on the board of the Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research (DIMER). She continues to practice primary care at ChristianaCare Primary Care at Darley Green.
Leslie Poland joins DANA as Communications Manager. Before joining DANA, Leslie served eight years with the State of Delaware in media and community relations and fourteen years prior within the non-profit community as a marketing project manager and volunteer coordinator.
Nadine Moone joins DANA as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion. She brings her energy and passion for driving true change through diversity, equity, and inclusion education, training, consulting and policy advisement to DANA Members, Board of Directors, and the community. Nadine’s career spans nearly 15 years in the fields of education and human services.
Dermody Properties announced the promotion of Robert Borny to Partner. Borny has been with the company since October 2017 and previously held the position of senior vice president of capital deployment in the East Region.
In 2020, Borny was named a GlobeSt. Fifty Under 40 award recipient – the award recognizes the achievements of young professionals in the commercial real estate industry. Before joining Dermody Properties, Borny was a Director at HFF in New Jersey, where he was responsible for sourcing and marketing industrial investment property sales. He became a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) in October 2011 and has more than a decade of experience in the industrial real estate development and investment industries.

Borny will manage land and building acquisitions, build-to-suit projects, development activities and asset management in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, New York, Maryland and Virginia.
Tracey Mulveny has been selected to lead Workforce Development for Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County.
Mulveny brings over two decades of community engagement, business development, education, and program planning experience. Prior to joining the team at Goodwill, Mulveny was with Tech Impact, most recently leading the strategic planning and implementation of efforts to help communities and businesses cope with the economic impact of COVID-19 through workforce development and registered technology apprenticeships.
Goodwill has grown over it’s 100-year history to become a leading community-based organization providing workforce development services throughout Delaware & Delaware County, PA. “Tracey will oversee Goodwill’s programs and services that focus on aiding those seeking employment through offering one-on-one job search assistance, interview coaching, work readiness training and digital skills training,” said Goodwill of Delaware’s President and CEO, Colleen Morrone.

Beebe Medical Group and Beebe Healthcare welcome Dr. Heather Barton to Beebe Gastroenterology Associates.
Dr. Barton received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
She focuses on gastroenterology, including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and issues that are specific to women and the GI tract. She is employed by Beebe Medical Group and is a member of Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Staff.
“Growing up in Salisbury, small communities like Sussex County are what I am used to and want to continue to be a part of,” said Dr. Barton. “During my training, I developed a sense of what it means to be a part of a bigger GI medical community with the ability to have colleagues to work with and to collaborate with on projects aimed to improve community education and access to the improve overall and gastrointestinal health. I am also excited for the opportunities Beebe brings with their satellite clinics across Sussex County.”
Dr. Barton is one of more than 60 new providers in the last year who have joined Beebe Medical Group, which includes 20-plus specialty offices in more than 40 office locations throughout Sussex County. When patients see providers that are within the Beebe Medical Group, they enjoy the experience of seamless electronic medical correspondence between office visits, outpatient facilities and the hospital.
Whisman Giordano & Associates has announced that Christopher Kobus has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant. He successfully met all the requirements set by the Delaware State Board of Accountancy.
Christopher is a Supervisor at Whisman Giordano with over 10 years of experience. His specialties are closely-held businesses, health care, low-income housing, construction, and non-profit organizations. He is active in the community and currently serves on the Delaware Contractors Association Young Executives Committee and the finance committee for the Nativity Preparatory School in Wilmington.
Christopher shared, “Obtaining my CPA license demonstrates a unique commitment to my peers, clients, and other professionals in our community – and I’m honored to be able to share this news. Carl M. Freeman Companies has selected Erika Cook to lead the extension of the social and life enrichment courses across all CMFC communities as Director of Life Enrichment. She will also manage the internal wellness programming for staff at CMFC’s Ocean View, DE. office.
“Our community wellness programming focuses primarily on social connection as well as mind and body enrichment,” said Cook. “I am thrilled to help more residents discover new passions and bring more communities together through shared experiences.”
Cook has been a member of the Carl M. Freeman team for the past five years, working previously as Sales & Marketing Coordinator for the Communities division and Marketing Manager for the Sports & Hospitality division. Before her time with the company, she earned her degree in Communications from Salisbury University, and began her professional life in marketing at Honest Tea before moving with her family to the Berlin, MD., area.

Polaris Health & Rehabilitation Center at the Milford Wellness Village has announced the hiring of Joshua Gross as its admissions director. Gross is responsible for facilitating all aspects of a smooth transfer throughout the admission process at Polaris. He develops and maintains referral relationships with local hospitals and other medical care providers to assist with patients requiring placement. Many of his additional tasks include coordinating pre-admission interview screening, conducting tours, and providing updates and resources to residents and their family members.
Prior to Polaris, Gross was the Director of Admissions and Marketing for nine years at a nursing care facility in Millsboro, DE. He is originally from Northern New Jersey where he attended Morris College and moved to Delaware almost 20 years ago.

In addition to his professional experience, Gross is also very involved in the Milford community as a volunteer with the Second Street Players at the Riverfront Theatre. He previously served as the President of the Board of Directors for 10 years and remains active with the organization where he regularly interacts with community members and organizes fundraising events and helps manage the theater’s operations.

NorthNode Group Counseling, a mental health facility and outpatient addiction recovery center in Dover, has brought on Martha “Marti” Bell as the practice’s Director of Human Resources.
Bell has more than 45-years in office management and administration experience in retail and hotel management, and now in mental health. Martha changed industries to become more fulfilled in her work by helping others overcome the daily behavioral and addiction challenges in their lives.
NorthNode Group Counseling is a rapidly growing outpatient behavioral health and substance abuse treatment center located in Dover, Delaware.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach in Greenville welcomes Erin Tustin as a sales associate.

Tustin is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors and she serves Northern New Castle County and the Greater Philadelphia area. She resides in Wilmington with her daughter.
