Kevin Thomas Jr.
Kevin Thomas Jr., of CBM Insurance in New Castle, received the inaugural Young Agent Award from trade association Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B) on Oct. 2.
“Kevin has dedicated himself to his agency, his community, and the insurance world as a whole,” said IA&B President & CEO Jason Ernest in a statement. “It’s an honor to recognize him for his contributions.”
Thomas is an account executive with CBM Insurance, an independent insurance agency that has covered the Tri-State area for over 30 years.
IA&B is the premier resource and champion for independent insurance agents in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. IA&B is a professional trade organization that is a driving force behind professional training, advocacy, and support for independent agencies.

Dr. Edward Tackey, a board-certified rheumatologist who has been in practice since 2003, has joined the Rheumatology Center of Delaware.
Dr. Tackey possesses a wealth of experience in managing all forms of arthritis, auto immune disorders, and related conditions.
“Dr. Tackey brings his experience and great love of medicine to his patients. He cares and listens and wants to give his patients the best and most efficient care,” said his colleague Dr. Maged Hosny in a statement.
After his internal medicine residency at Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., Dr. Tackey completed his rheumatology fellowship at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.
Dr. Tackey joins the caring staff at Rheumatology Center of Delaware, which is well-equipped to provide patients with the best care with new treatment techniques including biologic infusion therapy and a variety of joint injections
“I am very excited to join Dr. Maged Hosny and the Rheumatology Center of Delaware team,” Tackey said in a statement. “I look forward to providing quality medical care through extensive consultation and understanding my patient’s needs, concerns and goals.”
Dr. Tackey uses the most up-to-date treatment options in managing rheumatologic conditions with his many years of experience in biologic infusions and injectable medications in addition to joint and soft tissue injections.
Beginning Oct. 1, Dr. Tackey is accepting new patients with all insurances at all three Rheumatology Center of Delaware locations: Mill Creek Medical Center, 4512 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington; Enterprise Business Park, 260 Beiser Blvd., Suite 201, Dover; and Milford Business Park, 2000 Brent Jordan Way, Milford.
He has three children with whom he enjoys playing soccer and listening to music during his free time.

Joe Latina
Joe Latina, of Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties/CORFAC International in Wilmington, received the Charlie King MVP Award, which is bestowed to a member selected by CORFAC’s president to be the “most valuable player” over the past 12 months. The award was created in honor of CORFAC co-founder Charlie King Jr., for his devoted and exceptional service to the organization.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be named the 2020 recipient of the Charlie King Award,” Latina said in a statement. “It is no secret that 2020 has been a challenging year, but with strong leadership and an amazing staff, CORFAC has adapted and persevered. I look forward to the continued growth and prosperity of our organization into 2021 and for many years to come.”
Latina, who is currently serving as vice president of the organization, has spearheaded numerous network-building initiatives. His role as past chairman of the organization’s Affiliation Development Committee led to the acquisition of several new member offices in key markets. He also helped to build CORFAC’s retail profile with an expanded presence at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ RECon event in recent years.
