NASCAR is returning to Dover International Speedway for a weekend long tripleheader on May 4-6. NASCAR“¯racing is one of America’s favorite spectator sports and this weekend promises to be an event to remember! Which driver will make his mark on the Monster Mile this year?
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race will be Friday, May 4th, the “˜Dash 4 Cash’ NASCAR XFINITY Series race will be Saturday, May 5th and the “˜AAA 400 Drive for Autism’ NASCAR Cup Series race will be Sunday, May 6th.
While the”¯main attraction“¯for fans is the opportunity to watch the top drivers of the world battle on the “˜Monster Mile’ course, there are”¯plenty of other“¯“¯family-fun”¯things to do at”¯the FanZone located just outside of Turn 4 of the track. The FanZone offers a number of activities all weekend long, such as rock climbing; driving simulators, live music and sampling.
This event is expected to create a large amount trash, but thanks to a partnership between the racetrack and Waste Master Solutions, a good portion of the refuse will be recycled. Color-coded recycling bins are”¯placed in prevalent locations around the speedway. This has made it more convenient and accessible for race fans and patrons to recycle.
Dover Speedway and Dover Downs Hotel and Casino’s central focus is on reducing its carbon footprint.
“We are proud to bring on Waste Master Solutions to manage our like-minded goal of protecting and preserving the environment by reducing our environmental impact and keeping otherwise recyclable”¯material out of landfills,” said Ed Sutor, president and CEO of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. -“¯News Release
Waste Masters teams up with Dover Speedway”¯and Dover Downs to do what they do best-help larger companies and organizations manage and reduce their solid waste production through innovative environmental services such as”¯recycling,”¯commercial and industrial waste solutions, concrete washout and”¯porta pottys.
By reducing solid waste, Masterson says Dover International Speedway will not only increase recycling opportunities, but also provide an even more enjoyable experience for staff and visitors.
“We hope that we help them meet the goals of the people that come in and out of the casinos and the racetracks and other events there, by just having better brand awareness,” says Masterson.-WDEL
