An advocate for corporate social responsibility and local community involvement, GOLO, the Delaware-based company specializing in health and wellness solutions, prioritizes supporting the community as part of its corporate mission.
“From the time we were founded, GOLO has remained steadfast in its commitment to actively participate and contribute to our local community,” said Jennifer Brooks, President and Co-founder of GOLO.
As part of this commitment, the company continues to invest in several important initiatives and partnerships with charitable groups and non-profits across the region.
Physical education in schools with Project Fit America:
GOLO recently took part in a physical fitness assembly event for students at W.B. Simpson Elementary School in Camden, Delaware. The event highlighted and celebrated the results of a $10,000 grant given to the school in support of innovative physical education programs. The grant was provided by GOLO and implemented by Project Fit America, a national non-profit organization. W.B. Simpson Elementary School was selected for the grant by Project Fit America after conducting an open call for proposals with all public schools in Delaware, including Kent, Sussex, and New Castle counties.
“The W.B. Simpson team is forever grateful to GOLO and Project Fit America for this grant,” said Brook Fuchs, Principal of W.B. Simpson Elementary School. “We know that having students engage in physical activity leads to improved attention, better working memory, and reduces off-task behaviors. This grant will not only help us promote healthy fitness habits but will also help improve learning conditions for all of our students.”
Raising awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation:
GOLO is a proud supporter of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that is transforming the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Since its inception, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has assisted nearly 30,000 families through key programs such as Travel For Care, which helps cover costs so that families can access the treatments their kids need.
“We continue to be grateful for GOLO’s commitment in the fight against childhood cancer,” said Liz Scott, Alex’s mom and Co-Executive Director at Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. “For the second year in a row, they are making a difference by helping us fund innovative research for new cures and provide support to families during this challenging time.”
Advocating for Exceptional Care for Children:
GOLO has partnered with Exceptional Care for Children, a pediatric skilled nursing facility located in Newark, Delaware, for the past several years. The organization provides transitional, long term and palliative care to medically fragile and technology dependent children who are between the ages of birth and 21 years old.
“We are deeply thankful to GOLO for their generous gift of $10,000 to Exceptional Care for Children,” said Kyle Conner, Director of Development for Exceptional Care for Children. “This substantial donation will directly enhance our ability to provide outstanding care and transformative experiences for the children we serve. Their support is not just a gift, but a commitment to our mission of healing and hope. Thank you for being an integral part of our community and for helping us make a meaningful impact in the lives of many.”
