The Delaware Economic Development Working Group, which was established by Gov. Carney through an executive order, is holding its first meeting this Friday at the Delaware Technical & Community College in Wilmington.
The group’s mandate is to produce a series of recommendations for the governor on how to overhaul the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO), which handles business incentive programs and other state economic policies.
Gov. Carney appointed a mix of business leaders, elected officials and heads of institutions to the group.
The agenda for the meeting includes a rundown of DEDO’s current programs and funding, as well as a discussion about the possibility of leveraging more public private partnerships.
The meeting begins at 1:00 PM. The agenda does call for public comment period, but that could be subject to change.
