WilmU and First State Community team up for restaurant training program

First State Community Loan Fund (CLF) and Wilmington University have teamed up to offer a new training program for current and aspiring restaurant managers.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with Wilmington University on this educational program,” said Van Hampton, CEO of First State CLF. “Our hope is that this program will prove to be an invaluable experience for the various students and professionals involved and the beginning of a long partnership with Wilmington University.”

The 12-hour, four-class program will cover:

  • Preparations for Inspections
  • Controlling labor and food costs
  • Staffing, Hiring and preventing employee theft
  • Customer Service
  • Building clientele
  • Access to capital
  • Leasing tips

The cost of the Recipe for Success program is $250.00 per person and First State CLF’s loan application fees are waived for participating in the program. Classes will be held on April 9, 10, 16 and 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Wilmington University’s brand new Brandywine Campus located across from the Concord Mall with the address of 10 Beaver Valley Road, Wilmington, Del. 19803.
