During the month of June, the Wilmington Blue Rocks participated in a Best of the Ballpark competition with BallparkDigest.com. While promoting the contest and working to get votes coming in for the Blue Rocks, The Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau pledged that if Frawley Stadium won, GWCVB Executive Director Sarah Willoughby, Social Media Manager Gaby Indellini, and Good Taste Blogger, Matt Sullivan, would all eat the infamous Sweenie Dog.
With over 13,000 votes in the final round of “High A Best of the Ballpark,” Frawley Stadium was chosen over Bright House Field, home of the Clearwater Threshers. In Florida.
