Wegman’s, the food chain with a loyal following, has mailed promotional post cards to shoppers in North Wilmington as they prepare for the opening of its Glen Mills, Pa., store.  The cards offer a sweepstakes for shoppers who sign up for a Wegman’s loyalty card before the store opens.

Meanwhile, Kenny Family Shoprites is revamping its Rocky Run Parkway store, located less than four miles from the new Wegman’s.

Wegman’s, which has attracted fans for its in-store restaurants, fresh produce and prepared foods, will open its new 111,000-square-foot store in the Brandywine Mills Shopping Center on U.S. 202, just south of U.S. 1, on November 8.

Wegman’s, an 87-store chain with stores from Massachusetts to Virginia, has been named one of Fortune magazine’s 100 best companies to work for. They are hiring 500 people locally to staff the new store, including 175 full-time positions.
