The upcoming Fourth of July weekend is expected to be the most-traveled Fourth of July ever, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.
The organization expects 44.2 million people on the road nationally— nearly five million more than Memorial Day weekend.
Nearly 122,000 Delaware residents will take a trip, AAA said. That’s a 3.9 percent hike over last year.
“Lower gas and airfare prices are undoubtedly contributing to the record number of Independence Day travelers this year,” said Ken Grant of AAA. This is the fourth straight year travel increased on July 4 weekend.
