Delaware State University will continue its partnership with the Verizon Innovative Learning Renew Partnership with a $300,000 grant.

The program offers STEM and technology courses to male minority middle school students.

Verizon launched the program in 2015 to serve Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions. Over 1,400 students in 24 institutions have participated.

DSU and Verizon first partnered in 2016, with a $400,000 grant. The effort has served 80 local students through summer courses teaching entrepreneurship training and classes in robotics, augmented reality and 3D printing.

DSU announced this week an additional $300,000 grant to continue the program and increase outreach to 100 minority middle school male students.
