Vivint Solar, a Utah-based residential solar provider, has expanded to Delaware. Delaware is the 21st state for Vivint operations.

The State of Delaware requires that 25 percent of its energy needs come from renewable sources by 2025. That includes 3.5 percent from solar.

“We are pleased to help Delaware residents embrace clean energy and invest in their state’s progressive energy infrastructure,” said Vivint Solar CEO David Bywater. “Delaware’s strong solar policies empower the people of Delaware to enjoy greater energy independence and be better stewards of the environment.”

Vivint expanded into seven states this year and now operates in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.
