NEW CASTLE – US LBM, a leading distributor of specialty building materials in the United States, has opened a new location in the Southgate Industrial Center.

The location at 70 McCullough Drive is the Illinois-based US LBM’s 11th new roofing and siding-focused storage yard and sales center to open since 2018 and the company’s first location in Delaware.

The new location will operate as part of US LBM’s Universal Supply division, which also has locations across Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and now Delaware.

The new location is a 50,000-square-foot Class A warehouse distribution center built in 1990. Terms of the lease were not disclosed by US LBM, but it was most recently listed for $6 a square foot, or about $300,000 a year. In terms of job opportunities, the company is currently listing for sales representatives.

Situated just outside of Wilmington, the location is located near several major area highways and access points for customers in New Castle and Salem (N.J.) counties, including Interstate 95, the Delaware Turnpike (I-295), the DuPont Highway (U.S. Route 13) and the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

“Universal Supply is a name that construction professionals trust,” US LBM Chief Development Officer Jeff Umosella said in a statement announcing the opening. “We are excited to grow our network in the Mid-Atlantic and expand our reach in Wilmington and the surrounding area, delivering superior customer service and the leading brand names in roofing and siding.”

Universal Supply New Castle offers high-quality roofing and siding products to professional builders, contractors and remodelers with budgeting, product selection and scheduling on-site delivery. The site will be open to customers weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
