University of Delaware officials say they are raising tuition and fees for the upcoming school year, and increasing room and board costs as well.

Tuition and fees for Delaware residents will increase by $310 to $12,830, and by $830 for nonresidents to $32,250.

Officials say room and board increases for the coming year average 2 percent.

With the changes, the total cost for undergraduates living on campus with standard housing and dining options will be $24,898 for Delawareans, an increase of 2.25 percent.

The tab for nonresidents is $44,318, up 2.47 percent.

For graduate students, base tuition and fees will increase by 2.75 percent.

The state operating budget approved by lawmakers last week includes about $120 million in taxpayer dollars for UD, including more than $10 million for scholarships.
