Union Park Volvo in Wilmington set for $2 million renovations

Union Park Volvo Cars is set to renovate both its showroom at Pennsylvania Avenue and Dupont St. and service facility at 901 N. Union St.

Mayor Mike Purzycki on Monday joined Jim Ursomarso, vice president of Union Park Automotive Group, to celebrate the $2 million investment in Delaware’s only Volvo dealership.

“The Union Park Automotive Group’s ongoing commitment to the City of Wilmington has lasted for more than 60 years,” said Purzycki. “As Jim and his team continue to grow and expand to meet customer needs, we are honored to support them for being an outstanding business neighbor and a wonderful community partner.”

The renovations include a climate-controlled parking area, a new reception and waiting area and sensor technology to scan automobiles for “vital signs” before the customer even parks.

Surface-level upgrades are planned as well, including new exterior glass, a natural wood foyer and a relaxing customer living room. Both locations will remain open through the renovations. EDiS Company will manage the project.

“Having visited Volvo headquarters and met with the company’s leaders, Union Park Volvo Cars looks forward to capturing the unique Volvo aesthetic in our renovated facilities,” said owner Frank A. Ursomarso, Sr. “I have no doubt that our customers and guests will love the new look, technology and improved comfort.”
