UD may shift spring break

University of Delaware officials are considering shifting spring break to coincide with other colleges’ schedules following the death of a visiting student who fell from the roof of an off-campus fraternity house earlier this year.

The students from numerous schools on break during the week of St. Patrick’s Day come to the University of Delaware for its parties, because the university traditionally does not go on break until the next week.

Twenty-year-old Willem Golden, a freshman at Skidmore College, fell 30 feet to his death from a fraternity house roof March 19. Golden was on spring break at the time.
