HARRINGTON, Del. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will campaign this week in central Delaware, ahead of the state’s presidential primary on Tuesday.
His campaign website says he’ll host a rally Friday afternoon at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. It’s scheduled to start at 3 p.m. at the Quillen Arena, with doors opening at noon.
It is rare for a major presidential candidate to visit Delaware just before its primary vote. But Trump is seeking the state’s 16 pledged delegates in a battle that could see Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich having enough delegates between them to deny Trump a quick victory.
Trump is speaking Wednesday on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
