Tech Forum, a non-profit group devoted to connecting technology businesses, will hold its 4th Annual Idea Challenge on Wednesday, March 15. This one-day “hackathon” aims to solve community issues using data from the state’s new Open Data Portal.
The event extends from a partnership between Tech Forum and Delaware’s Government Information Center and Open Data Delaware, which maintains the portal.
Organizations such as Eugene Young’s Network Delaware and The Food Bank of Delaware will work over a five-hour period to develop data solutions to issues such as housing, food, education and healthcare.
The winners will have the chance to win cash prizes and to implement their projects at Open Data Delaware’s National Day of Civic Hacking in June.
