CBRE reports growth in office employment is driving vacancies lower in the suburban Wilmington market, but not in the city’s central business district.

The suburbs drastically outperformed the business district, which had a negative absorption rate of 125,374 square feet, the difference between tenant move-ins and move-outs over the year.

Total vacancies in the New Castle County suburbs were 14.2 percent, while central business district vaccines are 22.6 percent.
