Smart Kidz Club Inc., headquartered in Bear, was one of about 100 U.S. companies and organizations that sent representatives to Latin America in September for the U.S. Department of Commerce-led Trade Winds-Latin America trade mission and business forum.

The forum featured a three-day business forum in Santiago, Chile, plus optional trade mission stops in Argentina, Bolivia, México, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. At each mission stop, company leaders met directly with government leaders, market experts, and pre-vetted potential business partners in the region.

Smart Kidz Club Inc. provides digital subscriptions of a library of enhanced eBooks for kids to parents, teachers, schools, governments, and corporations who want to provide new, interactive educational content in English that encourages reading and learning among kids 1 to 12 years old.

“Latin America presents a great opportunity for us,” said Harjeet Singh, CEO. “We are excited about joining this mission and finding inroads to success in the region.”

This is the ninth year the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service has led Trade Winds, and the program has directly supported more than $239 million in U.S. exports in six global regions. The mission brought 100 companies to Latin America in 2014, and supported more than $11 million in U.S. exports.
