Schell Brothers, the Rehoboth builder of energy-conscious homes, will open a new division in Richmond, Virginia.
Schell, the 66th largest builder by revenue in the U.S., will initially build two developments in Chesterfield County.
“Schell Brothers was ready for growth,” said Chris Schell, the former hedge fund manager who is now CEO of Schell Brothers. “We’ve always known we wanted to expand outside of Delaware, but deciding on the next location required significant thought and research.”
Schell has hired Shane Burnette, a local Richmond builder, as division president. Burnette saw Schell on the internet and contacted them, and Schell invited him to visit. “There was an immediate connection, and plans for a Richmond division quickly fell into place,” Burnette said.
