BOISE, Idaho— Schell Brothers is continuing to expand across the country with its most recent office that has now opened in Boise, Idaho.
The production home builder was founded in 2003 by Chris and Preston Schell and has no plans of slowing down any time soon. Director of Marketing Alyssa Titus told the Delaware Business Times the opening of its newest location in Idaho signals continued growth across the country, a welcome sight in the company’s 21st year.
This isn’t the first time the Delaware-born company has expanded out of state – Schell Brothers opened a division in Richmond, Va., in 2017 and another division in Nashville, TN., in 2022.
Over the years, the Schell Brothers family looked to create a one-stop-shop atmosphere and grown to also include Decor Direct, an interior design company; Clean Energy USA, a solar panel energy company; Creative Courtyards, a construction company focused on creating custom designed outdoor living spaces; and a partnership with Henlopen Mortgage. Schell Brothers Foundation opened in 2022.
“We’re growing the company and looking to markets where we feel like our products, which are very niche, works in those markets. We’re not going anywhere here in Delaware, but the demographics in these markets work really well and the product lines work well,” Titus told DBT.
While Schell Brothers hasn’t started actively selling newly built homes in Boise just yet, it is well on its way to doing just that as a local team prepares for the transition.
“We’re just starting to build there. We were highly successful in Nashville with that launch. We’re growing there with a lot of future communities. In Boise, we’ve already secured lots of buildable lots,” Titus told DBT.
She said moving into new markets, or divisions, has been a learning curve for the Schell Brothers team as they work together to learn. Many of the new team members, she added, travel to Delaware to learn how to use the company’s proprietary software while also taking in wisdom and advice from teammates in the First State before taking it back to the upcoming divisions.
“These new divisions have also provided upward mobility to our teams. In all of these cases, we’ve had team members move to our new divisions. It’s a great opportunity for our internal team members to grow professionally,” she told DBT. “Our mission of happiness is so critical to our success. Making sure that we’re transferring our mission of happiness and culture to another division is really important to us.”
Titus said Schell Brothers is excited to welcome new opportunities in Idaho while promoting its customizable production line of homes.
“RV garages have been really popular out there,” she said. “But, just like here, Boise is beautiful. It’s a beautiful state, we’re in a valley there with the mountain as a backdrop. It’s really a lot like here; it has small town vibes. It’s very welcoming. The weather is awesome. We’re just really excited to be out there and selling our product there.”
