The Delaware Small Business Development Center will host a seminar to show business owners how to value their businesses on August 3.
“What is Your Business Really Worth” will explain what the most important things to consider when evaluating a business and what owners can do now to enhance their businesses’ value.
“It is important for every business owner to have a realistic idea of what their business is worth,” said SBDC’s Margo Reign. “This is important not only for the distant day when you might sell, but for estate planning and tax planning purposes. Other times it can become important is if there is a divorce. Very few business people know what their business is worth or even how to determine the value. This is very useful knowledge, so you can plan to ensure the business is at it’s maximum value, when you are ready to sell.”
David K. Berstein, principal with RLS Associates, a mergers and acquisitions firm, and Judith Scarborough, a director at Master Sidlow & Associates, will speak.
The seminar is scheduled from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at Dover Downs.
The entrance fee is $20, payable in cash at the door. Register and pay at https://clients.delawaresbdc.org/reg.aspx?mode=event&event=20360007.
