WILMINGTON (AP) — The man charged in last year’s fatal stabbing in Rodney Square will appear before a judge for a pretrial conference today.
Calvin Hooker III is charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in the September 2015 killing of 27-year-old Thomas Cottingham.Authorities say Hooker confronted a 21-year-old woman walking with her infant daughter in a stroller, pulled a knife and chased her around a bus stop at Rodney Square.
Cottingham intervened and was stabbed repeatedly, according to police. Officers used a stun gun to subdue Hooker after he refused to drop the knife.

Police said the attack appeared to be random.
